@Mike If you scroll down toward the bottom of the article's page, you can see page views. I use it to help determine what keywords they are getting traffic from...basically, I reverse engineer their article.

@ Lissie It is stupid simple isn't it? I also know how to bump those articles in the case there is a double listing although it is a bit more involved and I like to determine whether getting listed is worth the trouble though.

That is a very cool observaation - I'm like that's so obvious now someone else wrote it down - I have used the trick to get double listings with my own blog but like duh never thought to do it using someone else's success on a Web 2.0 property - thanks!

Hey Leo, as far as bum/article marketing is concerned..I agree that its an incredible way to drive traffic (I also agree that outsourcing is key if you don't want to spend your life writing articles). Awhile back I wrote a post trumpeting article marketing as a traffic machine that can keep sending you free traffic for years to come and I shared some of my stats for a niche I've done well in.

For that niche I submitted 29 articles to EZA myself. Some brought me consistent traffic and some were absolute duds. But one article was head and shoulders above the rest...from December 2007 when I submitted it through today (about 18 months) that article has been viewed 14,696 times. It's also generated 7,734 click throughs to my site which is a conversion rate over 50%.

Not quite as impressive as the example you gave, but that article continues to send me traffic day in and day out.

PS - where do you see how many times another author's article was viewed? I know we can see stats on our own EZA articles but I've never seen an option to see other author's numbers. If I'm missing something please let me know!

Great Leo,
It stands to reason that if one EZA article is in the top 10 then more could get there too. Same for hubpages and squidoo, et. Thanks for opening my eyes to this way of looking at things.

Good info Leo :)
I like this blog a lot and learned already a lot from it.
I'm also looking for this way to make money like you did in this post. Problem is I am non-english and can't write my own articles, so I have to find a system to outsource this with not too much risk. I think my keywordresearch will be the most important part.

Looking forward to the monetization post ;)
