Everyone needs a way to cloak your links, right? Well, that is definitely up to debate but if you do, then this wordpress plug-in will do this for you and more. The name is Ninja Affiliate and it is probably one of the most functional premium wordpress plug-ins if you do internet marketing. And yes, I do use the ninja affiliate on several of my wordpress blogs.

What does the Ninja Affiliate do?

In short, the ninja affiliate simply converts keywords on your webpage into affiliate links. People follow those links and you get paid. That is the short hand version of this review.

What makes this a significant step up from other premium plug-ins that kind of do the same thing is the ninja affiliate is much more robust than other similar plug-ins such as WP Affiliate Pro and some of the features make far more versatile than its predecessors.

Some Examples:

  • Shorten AND cloak your affiliate links on the fly- In other words, you can take an ugly link like this- http://www.maxblogpress.com/go.php?offer=drunkonlif&pid=31….and turn it into some like this… Ninja Affiliate(Scroll over the link and look at the your browser’s bar)/li>
  • You can assign multiple keywords to each affiliate link- Why would you want to do this? Well, the bottom line is that people click links and their reasoning behind clicking these links are according to what they see. In addition to this the Ninja Affiliate plug-in gives you a myriad of options including a limit feature. In other words, you can make it so if you were to repeat the same keyword over and over throughout a page, it wouldn’t create a link for every time you repeat it. This is great when you don’t want your page to look like a wikipedia article.
  • Integrated smart cache feature makes your page load faster- This is a for geeks only feature but should be important to anyone who is a webmaster. The plug-in caches every 24 hours (or whatever you want to set it on) which means that everytime someone opens your page, it will be open faster than using other plug-ins. This is more important than you think. If your site loads slowly, you will lose opportunities to make a sale.
  • Track other sites (and gather data) with this plug-in- One of the biggest benefits to using this isn’t so much to sell though. You can also track other sites and see what pages and web 2.0 properties are bringing you the most traffic. In other words, let’s say that you have a forum signature that you want to track and are pointing it to an ezine article. You can actually track how many times someone has visited the page from that particular link. This is good because it gives you an additional metric in your marketing as to what pages are bringing in traffic and what aren’t.
  • Integrated with your WordPress Editor- Ninja Affiliate gives you easy access to the links you have saved by way of a dropdown menu that allows you to place links on the fly.

Ninja Affiliate is a good plug-in that should be a nice addition for your website. It is currently $97 but in my mind, it does so many things that I can’t imagine any webmaster being unhappy with it.
