Really fascinating. Don’t know if it’s my imagination but recently I’m seeing more and more articlesbase articles at top of google for long tail keywords- just wondering if that is becoming big G’s new favourite.

Good experiment. I wondered how Ezine Articles rank so high so fast. As an Ezine Article Writing Expert Author, I do article research and write from my Orlando article marketing firm, essentially doing all copy writing for SEO in Orlando and Daytona Beach. My writing gets approved and first page ranked in the same day or over night at EZA, while my similar web page gets position #35 like you described. You can’t beat ezinearticles.com for authority and google trust.

Geno Thampi – you didn’t add link to other case study!

Two schemes I’m thinking :

1. Make ezinarticle. Make backlinks to ezines from feedage and other rising web 2.0 stars

2. Make site. Make ezine article. Make backlins from rising stars to your page and to your ezinearticle.

Q: What you think about replacing existing ezine article?

Tip:

Go to JV forums and subscribe for new JV alerts. When you have one, go to google and look what webpages are ranked – this is your rising stars.

With article marketing, i believe, one has to go for bulk. Submitting 100’s of articles and using anchor texts in those articles, in order to rank well for those keywords in the anchor text.

I’m so glad I found your post. I have wanting to conduct a test like this for some time. Your results aren’t surprising to me since I’ve written many articles that ranked high and fast in Google for fairly competitive keywords. I was thinking about creating a lot of quality (not spammy) .info sites and try to get them on Google’s first page for long-tail keywords, but after reading your post, I think I’ll go a different direction.
